Bunting Ship Ahoy Baby Pirate
(For the real bubba buccaneers!)

Dress your infant in this adorable Baby Pirate Bunting Costume and everybody will know exactly who the captain of YOUR household is!

This buccaneer bunting outfit is made of soft and luxurious suede cloth, with flannel pirate style bunting and pirate hat that comes fully equipped with ribbons attached – and the most ridiculously enchanting “Jolly Roger” you’ve ever seen.

You won’t a treasure map and X won’t mark the spot when your new addition is wrapped up snug as a bug in this buccaneer cocoon – you’ll be holding the most precious valuable on the planet in your arms!

Fun Fact: Ever wonder what’s up with “Pieces of Eight?” They are Spanish silver dollar coins minted in the New World from the late 1400s into the 1800s – and were actually legal tender in the U.S. until 1857. The Spanish dollar coins were worth eight “reales” and could actually be cut into eight pieces to make change, giving way to the nickname Pieces of Eight. The U.S. dollar was based on this dollar, hence the American slang “bits,” as in the old cheer “two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar” – and also the reason why the New York Stock Exchange listed stock prices in one-eighths up of a dollar all the way up until 1997.

Pirates especially liked shiny, silvery pieces of eight because they were booty most likely to be captured from Spanish treasure fleets – and they were very easy to share with their marauding mates!

Baby Pirate Costumes for Your Seafaring Princess

Speaking of hooks and peg legs, both could be easily fashioned from materials commonly found on board a sailing ship, and practically any able bodied sailor might have the skills to be able to rig one up in the event of an unfortunate mishap.
